Background Information
UKOLN is responsible for the coordination of development and maintenance of standards information for the JISC community. This information, which comprises of a list of technical standards relevant to the whole scope of JISC’s work, is to be housed in an online standards catalogue. A full introduction to the JISC Standards Catalogue, including information on the background to the project, is available. An explanation of the standards approach taken by the JISC Standards Catalogue and the infrastructure intended to support the JISC Standards Catalogue is also available.
JISC Standards Catalogue Developement Wiki
This wiki is the development area of the Standards Catalogue. It is where all standards entries are created and maintained by external contributors. Contributors are experts in their field. Each takes responsibility for a small number of entries in the catalogue. This responsibility, supported by JISC, involves continued maintenance of entries. Entries can be edited whenever changes to the standard/format are made that need reporting. However the Wiki site of the JISC Standards catalogue is a development area only and at specified times all entries will be frozen and uploaded to a JISC Standards Catalogue Web site. Contributors will be forewarned about the upload allowing them to double check their entries in good time.
Standards Entries
The complete list of Standards Entries is available. Each entry uses the Naming Conventions provided and is based on the Standards Template. Category information is also available, allowing category names to be added to each entry for further categorisation. If you wish to change a heading a standard entry sits under on the Standards Entries page or you wish to merge two standards together please contact m.guy@ukoln.ac.uk.
Links to Other JISC Standards Work
Attempts are being made to coordinate current JISC Standards work however this process will take time. If appropriate, links may be added to standards entries to other Standards work (such as the eReSS Wiki). Please contact m.guy@ukoln.ac.uk if you have any comments on this or would like to join in the discussion on how we work together to best achieve a coherent, useful, overarching view of standards work.
Thank you for all your help in creating this catalogue.
